Profilsammanfattning

I joined Hilti 6 years ago, in March 2011. Although I did not know Hilti as a brand back in that time, I was looking for a company where I could further develop my career as a professional, and I’m very happy that I found Hilti and that Hilti found me. Due to my background in project management, I was hired as a Key Project Coordinator in Venezuela to improve sales penetration in Key/Large Projects in Transportation, Social Housing and Energy projects. This meant learning a lot about the construction industry, direct sales approach and specifically about how core construction projects are managed. After this exciting learning process, I became the manager for the Key Projects, Key Accounts and Engineering team. This position then evolved to Business Developer for Energy & Industry, as based on factbase this was the sector where the biggest future business potential was concentrated. 
 
During 2012, and as part of my development, I was selected by Hilti to participate in a development program called “International Talent Acceleration Program” (I-TAP). This was a great experience for me, working with a multinational and cross functional team in a regional project. After the program, I applied as Head of Training and Development for Latin America, based in Panama Hub, and this is the moment where my international career in HR started. My focus was how to develop our leaders across the region, as well as our key talents that were participating in I-TAP program. In here, I felt in love and start to become passionate about a career into HR. 
 
Since 2017, I have joined a full HR role in Mexico as Head of HR, continuing my development. This is my third country working for Hilti, and I’m learning as much as on my first day. What an exciting journey!

Hilti came to my college campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma, recruiting for a newly created internship where high-potential candidates would rotate through the organization in sales, marketing and corporate. I got up extremely early that day to be one of the first to sign up! This company was global and had a great reputation as being an exceptional employer.
 
After a very involved process of interviews, testing and company tours, I was selected for the program and immediately felt that this was where I wanted my career to begin. I’d learned about Hilti in my studies, so I knew it had all the makings of a great business. 
 
I was honoured to be chosen as Hilti’s first hire out of the internship, and spent my early years in various progressively responsible roles in HR. Here I quickly learned the importance of how “happy team members helps our company make happy customers”.
 
When my vice president asked me what I saw myself doing with our company in the future, I said I wanted to share what I’d learned in North America by taking our cultural initiative into other market organizations. There began my international dream, with a role as head of HR for the UK.
 
Our company soon embraced a global approach that all our team members should be on a culture journey. “Our Culture Journey” was born and I was asked to return to North America to head up this new function as its first Chief Spirit Sherpa, otherwise known as director of organizational development. It’s a role I’ve loved from the day I started…and I’ll soon be in my fifteenth year of sherpa-ing!
